For example, did you ever think we call it "Sand" because it's between the "Sea" & "Land"?

In classical latin, there was only V, which had either a sound (like in "ultimate") or a [w] sound (like in "wut") Notice that the two sounds are almost identical (try saying "uat" instead of "what" you will find that they are very similar, if not practically the same)
Over time the [w] sound of V turned into a [v] sound (like in "venison"), which made the two slightly different sounds that V represented into not-so-similar. So at some point (very late, actually) people started to use U (which was a cursive version of V) to represent the sound and left V to represent the [v] sound
Germanic languages however actually has a [w] sound when they adopted the latin alphabet. So they used two V's to represent that sound (notice that at that point there was no distinction of V and U, they were the same letter just in different styles/fonts, even though in different places in latin V made different sounds. That's why "double v" and "double u" wouldn't be different from each other. It was way later that U and V were considered different letters) so after a while W was born, making a [w] sound.
But after a while in most germanic languages, there was a sound shift exactly as in latin, [w] turned into [v]. That's why germans today use W for a [v] sound. English did not have that sound shift so we keep using W for [w].

Oh im not afraid of them. I stomped those fuckers like I'm in a damn reggaetron music video. It has made me an unsung hero to many a Mexican mom.
I just don't want to have to wear boots in my shower.

I do wanna know why the fuck theyre so big down here tho. I swear I saw one the other day on a sidewalk the size of a dachshund.

Longer growing season. Merican roaches are water bugs. If you eliminate the water source and set some roach motels the problem goes away if you are not overly infested. The problem with living in dry areas is civilization brings water so, things that normally wouldn't live in any real number are artificially increased by the water source, watering plants, water bowls for pets, pools etc.., etc. However if you have the DIRTY GERMAN COCKROACHES @Maysam DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY GERMAN!! Then it's a hygiene problem. American roaches are leaf shaped and flat. The Nazi roaches high step on your sleeping face, and poop on your lips while in their nazi helmet shaped bodies.

Hey guess what, roaches back east in FL aren't that big and it's humid af and warm af there.... All year round.

Don't know what part of Floriduh you stayed in but roaches in FL often got to be three inches long.

I save even more money by using a splint.
