I have dysphoria which is a disorder, this however can be treated.
Being transgender itself isnt a mental disorder. Dysphoria is. Its a bit hard to explain
being "transgender" is a symptom of a mental illness
and this mental illness, gender dysphoria, can be treated with hormones. Once treated, the person is still transgender but is without dysphoria. Since their being transgender no longer causes them distress or hinders their ability to function they cannot be called mentally ill
