i9s had a lot of issues with reheating when they were first released
Yeah. I bought one. Transistor layers too close or something. Eh don't care. Intel went on the cheap and doesn't care about making a good product anymore, Evidently they are following the Apple model to mass-cash. Make slight product upgrades and charge full price as if the new release is a completely redesigned product with marked improvement.

Totally pissed me off so much that I went AMD. Eh it's ok for what I need it to do. I'm not doing any 3D modeling. Yet. Might turn this box into the dedicated CNC brainbox. So I'm good with it.

my friend recently did a whole new build with an AMD processor and said its working great. Have heard others say if you're not using AMD for a new build, you're doing it wrong

That is an issue of people not understanding instructions

I9s dont come with coolers, for obvious reasons, so people were putting mid range air coolers on them instead of aios

Intel and AMDs high end desktop cpus are geared towards different things

If you use an i9 for a video editing/rendering computer, you are making the mistake, not intel

I mean technically you can pay a lot more than $1000 on a card

But a new "decent" card costs around $250us
I'd be a PC gamer if a decent graphics card wasn't 1000$. Why do that when I can buy a Switch at half that price?
A 5700 TX, which is pretty good, is about $400.

I bought my TI1080 a few years back for $800 but it last a while because the 1080's were very cheap for high performance.

If its permanent or too long you dont get to enjoy them complaining about it when the ban expires

My $250 price was for a 1660 Super, which is plenty for 1080p 60hz gaming and a bit of 1440 for someone coming from console

yeah it's a nice laptop card. Not too far behind the 5700.

To your point, you can buy a card for less the price of a new xbox one that will have superior graphics.

The only time buying a console will be better value-to-graphics, IMHO, is at launch of a brand-new console.

That's when Xbox/Sony are taking a loss for every one sold.
