As of September 2, 2022, Encyclopedia Dramatica is being investigated by field offices affiliated with the FBI and Secret Service, regarding multiple violations that include illegal promotion of pornography and unsanctioned exposure of other peoples' personal information. The task force field offices of all federal agencies are currently undergoing an investigation where they can find the main server of ED and seize it, thereby wiping out all web data and backups as well. The mass raid will include a clause that those who founded and moderated ED will face criminal charges and be held accountable for the damages to the victims that had their personal information exposed. ED is found to be in multiple violations of the United States privacy act law, and there is enough evidence to prove that this site should be seized pursuant to an order of the United States District Court.
A federal jury will soon indicate that several individuals and entities allegedly involved in the operation with Encyclopedia Dramatica will be charged with the following crimes:
*Conspiracy to commit racketeering
*Conspiracy to commit copyright infringement
*Conspiracy to promote pornography
*Conspiracy to steal photos of living people from social media sites, including Facebook, etc.
*Conspiracy to expose personal and confidential information
As for all the victims that had their personal information exposed of ED, we sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience, and we will do everything to have the federal authorities do everything in their power to shut the site down. As for those who try to spy or stalk on another to extort for their personal information, they have no place here on the web.
