In this case it seems to have provoked inflammation of the esophagus and stomach, arrythmia and abnormally high blood pressure. People suffering from negative effects of capsaicin and potentially other active substances in very hot peppers is a regular thing, and symptoms vary depending on method, form and amount ingested.

Personally i don't see the merit in making practically inedible and certainly unenjoyable foodstuffs just to chase the clout of record smashing scoville numbers. Then again, I am perfectly satisfied with bog standard chili, habanero, jalapeno, wasabi and such like spices in the sub 10k scoville ranges.
