i thought artemis was gonna go broody but GOOBER BEAT HER TO IT THIS IS NOT A DRILL GOOBER IS BROODY
so i gave her a fresh, neat nesting pad and the eggs i was gonna have artemis hatch, and some treats. fingers crossed she doesn't take after her mother with the other chicks

the squad... it was a bit chilly this morning so i tried bringing mercury in to mom them but because she wasn't broody she showed no interest. she just sorta inspected them n went on her way

but after i picked him up n hugged him, i sat down in the chair n my little buddy came to visit n nap on me so honey sat around looking dejected
i have no idea how long a chicken can live with poor oxygen but he is still kickin' n this makes me happy

iirc this is spice baby viburnum? these clusters are VERY fragrant and smell lovely
not all is perfect tho the chickens have eated the baby onions and damaged the potato plant growth i need to blockade more off.

i removed the three full-size eggs n even tho she is perfectly fine sitting on one egg and shrieking like any inefficient karen, i gave her the one of hers that i brought in yesterday.

candled artemis' eggs today since we're a little past the halfway point. 2 were duds.
fenced in the potato/grape/baby pumpkin bed too so the chickens stop maiming the potats. planted another sweet potato in the bed too and onion seeds.
got some stuff to re-plant the herb garden, and a couple peppers and cherokee purple tomatoes over the weekend it but rained half of sunday n all day yesterday so maybe tomorrow fingers crossed

greek oregano, lemon thyme, spearmint, sweet mint, rosemary, lavender, chives
planted at the end of the choy rows. 2 cherokee purples, 2 yellow bell, 2 red bell, 2 big bertha bell... if i have the same luck as last year one of these will be a banana pepper for no reason
the bok choy variants are doing well, as are the mizuna greens n carrots n such

today was a productive day on the mint farm
fenced in the small red coop n moved pip n the ladies over so they will have room to walk around. the small red coop is just a better coop for baby chicks to walk around in
end goal is to put up openable gates on each side and then alternate which flocks get to free range

ever since the girls started free ranging the egg quality is through the roof

blueberry is blueberrying
so on n so forth

bandit didn't intentionally abort the previous two eggs but she did leave them to go sit in a nesting box with more eggs in them...

i have harvested the early spring choys and put them in today's dinner. i am seeding more in the grow beds, leaving the ground area where they were at for tomatoes n peppers
flowers are starting to bloom
and i am getting some of the store bought peppers
my blue muffin viburnums
the gladiolus' and a young sunflower
pumpkin being disrespectful
one of the junior pip childrens went missing, but blip and nugget are fine

the indoor starts a little bit of a late start but still earlier than last year so improvement is an improvement
tomato and pepper on the left, 36 total
and 9 watermelon and 35 pumpkins on the right
80 total indoors atm
the outdoor mini pumpkin raised bed has been sown too. 12 total of the wee jackos
